During my last year of studies I had to create an engraving for the dial and the movement of a watch. The subject was Flower Power and the goal was to find a concept related to this movement that was active in the 60's. We worked in collaboration with the watchmaking manufactures Girard-Perregaux and the model of the watch is the Cat’s Eye.

First of all, I had to do researches about the movement Flower Power and find a concept related to this subject. I was inspired by the artist Miguel Chevalier, who made an exhibition in which he projected pictures of flowers in public places and on people. For me his work represents the principle of sharing.
Before starting engraving I had to develop and draw my idea and I had to think about the way that I would engrave it.

In the dial I hid a face of a woman in flowers. I came up with this idea, because people gave flowers as a gift during the flower power period. I found the same concept in the work of Miguel Chevalier. I wanted to represent this idea of sharing in my project.
